With the ever-changing events going on in response to the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) outbreak, we want to assure you that we are here to help. It’s natural to have feelings of uncertainty during this time of prevention and adjustment. Please, know that we are here to keep you updated and provide our perspective and guidance as things develop. These are challenging and unprecedented times. We all have an obligation to do what’s right to keep our families, colleagues, and communities safe.
 
In an effort to help reduce the spread of COVID-19, Martels Real Estate Inc is taking the following preventative measures which will go into effect on March 23rd, 2020 and will remain in effect until further notice:
 

• BEFORE SHOWING any Martels Real Estate listings or any other listings by the Martels: NO MORE THAN 3 PEOPLE AT A TIME;
• We insist that if any of our clients or any REALTORS® wanting to visit listings are experiencing symptoms (flu-like symptoms) or have been out of the country in the past 2 weeks. TO NOT SHOW THE LISTING OR ASK TO VISIT ANY LISTINGS ON THE MARKET;
• FOR SHOWINGS TO OUR LISTINGS: REALTORS® AND THEIR CLIENTS, are to use anti-bacterial wipes BEFORE GOING inside the home & all use gloves. And, once inside, ONLY REALTOR with gloves is allowed to touch doors & lights, USING the wipes;
• FOR SHOWINGS to our BUYERS: Please ensure to either wash your hands with soap or use hand sanitizer/anti-bacterial wipes before entering any home. We are asked by the Seller(s) that you do not touch anything in the home. This includes, but is not limited to, door knobs, light switch, counter top, toilets, furniture, towels..
• We ask that a minimum of 2 meters distance is respected at all time, while we are showing the home and enter the room one at a time same with if it involves elevator. This allows for everyone to follow best practices of social distancing;
• Martels Real Estate will encourage the use of technological solutions to significantly reduce or eliminate the need for these in-person interactions, and discuss alternatives with our clients before listing or showing homes;
• We will encourage communicating with clients via written communications, smartphone technology applications, video conferencing, instead of face-to-face;
• We will encourage the use of virtual tour or the use of facetime for initial visit to the home, inspection, last walk through visits;
• We will assist our clients to pay a close attention to details, analyze photos, virtual tour, and all information provided in the listing including measurements of the rooms before visiting any interested homes. Jacques & Lucie will try to get a copy of a floor plan;
• Jacques and I, are insuring that we are healthy and present no symptoms before meeting a client or entering a home, as well as to sanitize our hands before and after visiting a home;
• Listing agreements, agreement of purchase and sale and all amending documents will be done electronically instead of paper documents;
• Will encourage strongly the remit of electronic funds transfers instead of certified cheques or bank draft.
